In my face

I feel embarrassed and intimidated. Everyone around me seems to be some kind of intellectual genius. The problem I posted for the students yesterday - A girl solved it this morning (with in 2 steps) and said it was too simple. My co-worker looked at me and said it was a High School type of thing. How am I to know? All of it looks difficult to me! I feel dumb.*sobs* I hate feeling like an idiot and slowly...I have started to get an idiot complex. I feel like crap. If you need me, I'll be in the corner with the dunce hat on! hmmph.

Break

I bummed a smoke off an anti-social Russian chemist today. He glared at me through his big wire framed glasses when I tried to chit chat. He didn't reply to my question but simply flicked his cigarette and walked inside. hmmph.

I have had a total of two cigarettes today. Hooray for super me!

Hear is the(Sam Loyd)puzzle I posted for the students on the bulletin board. NO CHEATING.
(and no I can not solve this puzzle with out cheating)
After gathering 770 chestnuts, the three little girls divided them up so that their amounts were in the same proportion as their ages. As often as Mary took four chestnuts, Nellie took three, and for every six that Mary received, Susie took seven.

How many chestnuts did each girl get?

Library Lust

This is my second day on my new job (lunch hour). Yesterday, They had a "Welcome L" banner for me and Einstein bagels for breakfast. I received a mini tour around campus and greetings from the library staff. I love this place. I love the repository with the rows and rows of ancient books, that smell of grandma's attic. I wanted to stay down there and walk up and down the isles, the librarian said I could come back anytime. This job is challenging. Terminology and subjects (all on engineering) that I am constantly picking up and reiterating back into my work day. This is a fantastic job. I have my OWN office (window included. I am learning a new database today, and the learning process is tedious. I fell asleep reading already. I just took a break and headed straight to Starbucks to drink my lunch. I am bound and determined to get this database down pat today. I am teaching myself, with the ill help of the (very) basic training manual. I am so happy with my new life.
